Our staff is experienced, reliable and committed individuals. With natural leadership, organizational skills, great personalities and a thorough understanding of the needs of our groups combine to create an excellent team.
Their responsibilities are to coordinate, direct and supervise the recreational activities of the participants throughout their stay. In this sense, they watch over the welfare and safety of the participants and try to provide a safe and fun environment.
For participants and staff alike, our program provides an open and accepting environment in which everyone can comfortably be themselves and fit in. Worldwide Friends recognizes, however, that there are biological, developmental and psycho-social barriers which can make it difficult for some participants to fully participate in camp programming. This is why all of our staff members are train to adapt their leadership and programming strategies to be as inclusive as possible for a diverse body of participants.
Our staff undoubtedly represent the single most important factor in giving our participants the time of their lives!
Included in the price:
Food, Accommodation, Domestic travels in Iceland.
International travels, extra nights before or after the camp, personal insurance, personal expenses during the camp.
We strongly recommend arriving in Iceland at least one day before the first day of your program and depart no earlier than one day after the last day of your program.
Please send an e-mail with your name, flight number, choice of hostel, as well as your arrival date and time, so we can confirm the pick-up/drop-off.
We strongly advise buying additional insurance for the duration of your stay in Iceland. If you decide to do that, please make sure to bring along your insurance card, as well as all relevant phone numbers. It is always a good idea to leave a copy of the insurance details and phone numbers at home.
Moreover, if your country of origin is part of the European Union, please bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you, as this will entitle you to healthcare services in Iceland.
Transfers should be made at least 4 weeks before the camp starts.

The currency in Iceland is called Icelandic króna, written ISK
Mastercard and Visa credit and debit cards are widely used. In larger towns and airports it is easy to withdraw cash through ATMs (cash machines).
You might be best set for just exchanging your USD/EUR for ISK upon arrival
Iceland uses 240V, 50Hz AC electricity. Plugs have round pins with either two or three prongs; electrical appliances fitted with overseas plugs need an adaptor.
If you need to use your mobile phone in Iceland, please ask your service provider, if they offer phone coverage in Iceland, and request to be upgraded to international roaming, if possible. You might also consider buying an Icelandic SIM-card, if your service provider does not offer coverage in Iceland.
